Join us for the Three Day Celebration at The AfterSputnik Art Project!

Where: At the 4th Floor of the Metropolitan Building (www.metropolitanbuilding), 44-01 11th St., Long Island City, NYC
Directions by Subway: Take the Queens bound V or E train to 23rd St.-Ely Ave stop (the first stop in Queens.) Exit toward the rear of the train (21st exit). When you emerge from the subway walk straight ahead on 44th Dr. (one long block) until you reach 11th St. Turn right and walk two blocks north. The building is the dark red brick building on the right at 44-01 11th St.

MC-ed by Victoria Libertore (aka Howling Vic), this evening will feature pieces from 10+ spoken word artists addressing their perceptions of how student loan debt has affected them.
The celebration will also include music, dancing, and refreshments.
And, of course, the visual art pieces will also be open for viewing.
BEST DEAL IS THE WEEKEND PASS FOR $30, which provides admission to both The Opening Reception on Friday evening and The AfterSputnik SpeakEasy on Saturday evening. The WEEKEND PASS is ONLY available though online ticket sales.

AfterSputnik, named after the 1957 launch of the Russian Sputnik satellite which prompted the U.S. federal government to sign the National Defense Education Act, is a grassroots organization created by student loan debtors for the purpose of confronting the growing problem of student loan debt in the U.S.
Founded in 2008 by entrepreneur, anthropologist, and debtor Darla Horn, AfterSputnik aims to change the way people think about student loans, to mobilize debtors to take proactive measures to pay it back and to enable people to live a better, more fulfilling life as a result.
